I know I just blogged, but I definitely have something new to say!Americans and Singaporeans definitely have different things to "worry" about. What am I talking about in this case? Relationships. I was just reading Xiaxue's blog, when I came across an old post of hers (I just started reading her blog) that talked about SPG. All Singaporeans know what SPG is. For the Americans out there, SPG is Sarong Party Girl. This pretty much means an Asian girl who marries a White guy (in Singapore also known as Angmoh), just for money, sex, or just because he's white. (Let me clarify that I am NOT one of these despite the race of my boyfriend.) Well, Singaporeans worry about SPG's. Worry is the wrong term to use. It's BOTHERED. Singaporeans are BOTHERED by SPGs. Singaporeans find it disgusting when they see an Asian girl dating a White guy. If it's for true love (like mine :) ), why not? But if you see an incredibly young Asian girl and an incredibly old White guy, there is definitely something wrong there. BUT. SPGs, is it really their fault? Have you maybe thought about the guy? Maybe it's the GUY that conned the GIRL into marrying him! (I'm in no way accusing the men, I'm just saying hypothetically.) Xiaxue (famous Singaporean blogger) talks about foreigners (typically maids) flirting with Singaporean men. I thought we were talking about SPGs in general? I don't know why it was suddenly targeted at foreign maids. Don't get me wrong, I agree. Foreign maids are slutty and flirt shamelessly with the Singaporean and White men to get them to sleep with them and hopefully later leave their wives to marry them. Disguting?? Indeed! But what does that have to do with SPGs? SPGs are Asian girls in GENERAL with WHITE guys. But it's their lifestyle, who are we to say anything? I'm not perfect, and I'm sure neither are you!
As for Americans, it's the White guys that like the Asian girls, and the Asian guys getting mad, not the White girls! Asian girls in the US don't typically go for White guys specifically, but I can think of MANY White guys that specifically go for Asian girls. Now how do I know this? I'm Asian, I live in the US, I'm surrounded by White people. You do the math. I also know many Asian men, and let's face it. Asian men feel that the White guys should stick to their own kind! It is common knowledge that White girls seldom go for Asian guys, whilst White guys OBVIOUSLY love Asian girls. So, it's really the Asian guys that are at a disadvantage here. I completely sympathize with them, I do. Read angryasianman.com. It's funny. Yet sad.
Oh the woes of Americans and Singaporeans.
