Here I am back in the US of A after a looong flight and 2 very looong days. It's the first day I'm just resting at home doing NOTHING and I am ABSOLUTELY enjoying it! I was so tired for the last 2 days, I wanted to go back to bed as soon as I got up.
I spent the last two nights with my fantastic friends!! It was great catching up with them-- I missed them so much! Tuesday night I went to PF Chang's, which happens to be one of my FAVORITE places to eat, as well as a tradition of ours :). Last night we went to the new (for me anyway) Yardhouse. Pricey, but good! I had a good time hanging out with my friends :)
I miss my family a lot though :( Boooo. It would be a perfect birthday if they were there with me!
Too brain dead to say much else,

Off to the Land of Change
It's early Friday morning and I'm leaving Singapore for San Antonio, TX early Monday morning. Three days. :(I'm leaving the Land of No housework, cooking, laundry, and bills.
But I'm also leaving the Land of Discolored clothes, and funky wet-clothes smell.
But I'm also leaving the Land of Discolored clothes, and funky wet-clothes smell.
I'm going to the Land of Freedom, clothes washed the way I like it, and knowing where everything is.
But I'm also going to the Land of Doing anything and everything myself.

I'm leaving the Land of Family, friends and lots of love and fun.
But I'm also leaving the Land of having to please a lot of people.
I'm going to the Land of Friends and fun!
But I'm also going to the Land of No car and transportation.

I'm leaving the Land of Food HAVEN and being able to eat well while spending little.
But I'm also leaving the Land of Eating whatever the domestic helper's cook. No matter what.

I'm going to the Land of Eating anything I want, cooking anything I want.
But I'm also going to the Land of Spend lots of money on things I want to eat.
I'm leaving the Land of Walking down the street and being in shopping HEAVEN.
But I'm also leaving the Land of Everything being way too expensive and not being able to buy ANYTHING.
I'm going to the Land of CHEAP shopping!
But I'm also going to the Land of Monotonous shopping.

I love all... I miss all. And I'll miss all.
I can't believe I'm leaving in 3 days. Other than missing Singapore and everything about Singapore, what I'm definitely going to miss most is my family. Spending time with them is the greatest thing in the world :)
I'm really going to miss being a Singaporean.

Public Music? Yuck!
I do not like the public playing of music. No, I do not mean the public speakers that blast music in the malls and restaurants, and yes, sometimes the elevator.
I mean the annoying people that have those mp3 players and phones that play music out loud without earphones.
Do you HONESTLY think the whole bus wants to listen to your LOUD, TACKY music? (Only people with tacky music play their music out loud for some reason.) Do you really think you're cool by torturing the common people by interrupting whatever they're doing? SERIOUSLY! Can you NOT afford earphones?
Singaporeans who think other Singaporeans share the same taste of bad music as they do. Sigh.
xoxo,
Rachel
